Hollywood comes to Lander

Hollywood comes to Lander – Young filmmakers workshop. Veteran Hollywood writer, producer, director Chris Parrish leads a Young Filmmaker’s Workshop at Lander University on Friday, April 21. The workshop is a component of Lander’s 8th Annual Film Festival. High school students from Anderson Districts I & II Career and Technology Center in Williamston, and Heyward Career & Technology Center in Columbia attended.

An instructor at DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts (Chicago), Parish has written for popular television shows, including “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “The King of Queens.” He makes his directorial debut in the upcoming theatrical release “Thrill Ride.”

In the workshop, Parrish shared with students his own experiences about writing, filming and directing.

Joining Parrish in the workshop was Craig Titley, writer and producer for “Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Scooby-Doo,” “Cheaper by the Dozen” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”; and Chris White, writer and producer for “Cinema Purgatorio,” “Get Better” and “Taken In”; and Jon Baty of ProAm USA, a camera and equipment supply company based in Greenville.
