Lander University issues statement on GLPA partnership suspension
GREENWOOD—Regrettably, Lander University is suspending the programming of Greenwood-Lander Performing Arts on the Lander campus for the 2014-2015 season. Several business-related reasons contributed to this decision, including the inconvenience and restrictive impact of a construction project near the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center, where GLPA performances are held.
No decision on the 2015-2016 season has been made as of this date. Officials said hopes for reinstating this longstanding collaboration in the near future are high, and work is being done to restore the GLPA partnership, which Lander and Greenwood have enjoyed for many years.
